I am not sure if my foray into sculpture was accidental or fated but no other artistic medium has satisfied my soul to this extent. Working with clay or wax allows me to express the multidimensional experience of who we are. I have a powerful reverence for the masters, most notably Vigeland, Rodin, and Houdin, and I have a passion for animation. My work is cast in bronze at the Artisan Bronze Foundry and American Fine Arts.

Crystal carves original, one-of-a-kind sculptures out of woods that she selects for their natural beauty and inherent energy.  Choosing the wood is an integral part of her creative process.  The inspiration for Crystal’s sculptures are twofold – the natural shape of the wood itself and her love for the human form.

Julie is a hybrid artist.  Blurring boundaries, breaking rules, and compulsive experimentation occupies much of her artistic time. She uses unconventional materials and concepts outside the scope of traditional art-making to delight the eye, and shock the sensibilities.  Julie believes hybrid experimentation has the potential to expand innovation in contemporary art.

Inspiration for my one-of-a-kind Wares for Living comes from Nature’s world, the soul of my adventures.  I use the language of form and color to demonstrate that utility and beauty are indeed compatible concepts. I also design wearable art, bodacious and colorful necklace sets that will delight your imagination.

I would categorize my style of work as Contemporary Craftsman. I throw and glaze my own forms from high fire clays. These days it is a magical feeling to be able to work in such an ancient medium, to mold a lump of clay into a form, to embellish with glaze and subject it to 2300 degrees of heat, and then discover in the finished kiln a beautiful handcrafted work of art.

Working in Raku ceramics is an inspiring and fulfilling practice. The mercurial nature of Raku often results in a creation that is unique, powerful, striking. This is a marvelous lesson in non-attachment that guides me and possibly you into a deeper understanding of self.

I love color; it floods my senses. I love the tactile sense of touching the brush to the wall.. I pay attention to the entirety of the room. It all matters: every detail, every movement, how the room is used and who will move through that space. My work is about blending the needs of the client with my creativity to produce the ultimate impact on the interior environment and all those who view it.
